Data Analytics for HR - 101 will teach you how to make better informed data-driven decisions in your career. By using Microsoft Excel, the universal language for spreadsheets, and Tableau, a data visualization software, you'll be able to confidently leverage data in your day-to-day. Built in conjunction with CPHR chapters across Canada, this 12-hour course is aligned to the CPHR Competency Framework.

Dates and cost

Cohorts for the Data Analytics for HR - 101 have rolling start dates throughout the year, so even if you miss the next cohort, there's still options to choose from.

This is a 12 hour course taught over 4 days (Wed & Friday 4-6PM EST). Classes are streamed in real-time, with mentor support on-demand during class time, and after hours via Slack.

The cost is:

  • $1,400 for CPHR members
  • $1,800 for the general public

Data Analytics For HR - 101 walks you through an introduction to data analysis, data collection, data cleaning and organization, and visualization.

  • Data Analysis Foundations (Excel foundations, descriptive statistics, Qualitative vs. Quantitative Analysis)
  • Data Collection & Cleaning (Collecting & combining data sets, excel techniques for Data Analysis, data-driven decision-making)
  • Planning & Forecasting (Intro to Tableau, linear regression)
  • Data Visualization and Dashboards (Data visualization best practices, dashboard planning, building dashboards in Tableau)

  • Building a quarterly HR performance deck
