I was a support consultant for a software company, Intelligenz. In this role, I supported end users' issues with limited access to the software itself. I was interested in a challenge and I was aware that I was capable of more professionally, so my dream was to become part of the development team. What led you to want to take a tech Program, and why did you choose Lighthouse Labs? I dove deep into other technologies because I was eager to transition to the development side of software. After careful consideration, I chose Lighthouse Labs, recognizing its potential to help me achieve my goals and seize a new opportunity to become a full-stack developer. Their expertise and real-world insights were invaluable in shaping my understanding and problem-solving abilities. Since making the decision to embark on the Lighthouse Labs journey, I've been able to position myself for success in a role I've long desired. Talk to us about your new job! Explain a little of what you do now. Currently, I serve as a software developer at PTW Energy, where my responsibilities encompass crafting new features, implementing enhancements, and resolving issues across our existing suite of applications. Daily, my tasks included participating in scrum meetings, collaborating with senior developers on coding tasks, writing and testing new features, fixing bugs, and conducting code reviews. Right now I'm enhancing an application called "E-ticketing", where employees can add service orders or purchase orders as well as a bunch of other functionalities. I’ve employed technologies like C#, Javascript, SQL, and other resources to launch and test these implementations. What do you appreciate most about your new career or what are you most hopeful for moving forward? What I appreciate most about my new career is the opportunity it provides me to create innovative solutions. It's a chance for me to truly make a difference within my organization while simultaneously paving the way for personal growth and advancement. I'm eager to seize opportunities that come my way, embracing new roles and responsibilities as they arise. Additionally, I cherish the opportunity to continuously expand my knowledge and skills, learning new technologies and best practices that contribute to my professional development. What’s next? Tell us about you and your future career goals. Well, I'm aiming to climb the ladder into more leadership roles down the line. I want to beef up my confidence in handling all sorts of tech challenges and maybe even lend a hand in mentoring other people who are on the same journey as me. It's about keeping the momentum going and helping the tech community along the way! What advice would you give someone who wants to transition into a tech career? Stay persistent, never throw in the towel, and keep that end goal in sight. Believe me, you've got what it takes. It's all about putting in the hard work and having faith in yourself.
